One of my very favorite groups is Mercy Me. They took this wonderful old hymn and made a new hit. The words get me every time and the music is beautiful. As a writer, I have often thought about putting into words what the love of God is. I can't. It is just too big to describe. I put the lyrics for the song below. If you get a chance to listen to the song, please do.
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child
He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin
Could we with ink
the ocean fill
And were the skies
of parchment made
Were every stalk
on earth a quill
And every man
a scribe by trade
To write the love
of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll
contain the whole
Though stretched from sky
to sky
Hallelujah [3x]
O love of God,
how rich and pure!
How measureless
and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints' and angels' song

I have thought all day about what to post and I can't think of anything save for two words: PRAISE GOD!
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for his mercy and I thank him daily for keeping my loved ones cupped in his palm and covered by the blood. Amen.
